For an April engagement session, I LOVE Mellon Park Walled Garden. The trees are blooming in mid-April! Who am I kidding? I love Mellon Park Walled Garden pretty much year round! There’s a reason it’s always crawling with photographers and their clients! Jessica and Ryan and I planned to go to Grist House, which was where their first date was, but Grist House was having an event when we called to confirm we could still photograph there, so instead we shifted to just bringing Grist House beer to the Highline which had an awesome view but still incorporated their first date vibe! They love to try new breweries but also to read, watch movies, and listen to live music.

And of course, you almost HAVE to do a yellow bridge photo if you’re doing an engagement session in Pittsburgh – some people like to do Clemente, some Warhol, some Rachel Carson Bridge – we call these the “sister” bridges and I feel like construction or repairs are always happening on one of them!
