One of the big honors in the wedding photography industry is to photograph one sibling’s wedding and then be asked back for another sibling’s wedding! Matthew’s sister was married in October of 2023 and then, just a week later, I met up with Matthew and Brittany – it was their wedding year/their time to shine!

When we talked about what they wanted for their session, Brittany said they were going for a “date night vibe” with some black and white and candid shots. It was the tail end of fall – early November – and here’s a tip for you folks getting early November photos in Pittsburgh outdoors – the “yellow trees” in Allegheny Commons Park are often the last leaves to turn and fall off. Someone told me they are gingko trees and that they also can be a bit odorous – but I’m no arborist! I just love how they photograph and for those of you out there who are always waiting until the leaves are falling to remember to schedule your fall session – we will meet up on the North Side under these trees and get you all squared away!

We hit the Highline at sunset, which is an awesome time for the view up there! I get energized by spending an evening with my couples – even if I am officially “third wheeling” on their date night and capturing it!
